The Izil Berber Rug features a beautifully complex palette of rich jewel-tones mixed with subtle pastels and neutrals. The intricate blending of color embodies the true definition of Izil: magnificent. Each reclaimed piece of fabric has been thoughtfully dyed using natural pigments and then hand-knotted into a strikingly unique rug. Intended as floor coverings to keep away the harsh winter cold, the basic functionality of Berber rugs has since been overshadowed by their beauty. This timeless rug is sure to be the centerpiece of any room in your home. Woven by the Berber women of Morocco, the making of these captivating rugs has been passed down through generations of women. Working side-by-side, mothers and daughters, neighbors and friends make use of their assortment of carefully recycled and hand-dyed fabric pieces to create a rug that is a unique masterpiece. The Berber women follow no pattern when hand-knotting each piece of cloth, instead allowing ancestral and cultural influence to be their guide thus creating a stunning visual representation of Moroccan history.

When we founded YaYa & Co. our mission was not just to build a beautiful brand but to create a way to improve our earth. All of our products are sourced from incredible artisans or small family owned makers. We always meet our makers and use only the highest quality natural materials, sourced responsibly. Our brand was founded when we built and launched a school for women outisde of Punjab India, an institute that brings girls out of poverty, trafficking and horrendous life conditions - and employs them, teaches them trade, and makes them self sufficient. Now we are planting trees in the Amazon Rainforest with every order made on our site.
