Giving Tuesday - Our Participation

Today we unite in a worldwide celebration of generosity. Right now, people around the globe are coming together: showing kindness and generosity by giving their voices, time, money, goods and more to support communities and causes. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that encourages people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

At YaYa & Co., our initiative is to give back. Whether its paying our artisans above the living wage, building a school for women in India to become self-sufficient or planting trees in the Brazilian Amazon, we truly focus on giving back to every community in which we work in. During the past few years and especially after this year with fires in the Brazilian Panhandle, recognize the need to help maintain this irreplaceable source of moisture, resources and oxygen.

With every purchase made through YaYa & Co., we plant one tree on your behalf in the Brazilian Amazon to help conserve habitat for the organisms living in the protected areas, while providing sustainable livelihoods to local people, and the rest of the planet.

Today, we will be planting ten trees with each one purchase in an attempt to regrow the Amazon Rainforest for Giving Tuesday. Rebuilding the Amazon is a huge gift for our artisans who depend on these resources for their craft and for their shelter. We will focus on planting trees that are most beneficial to the ecosystem, taking into account the sunlight, soil and conditions of weather. So, join us in Giving Tuesday to help regrow the Amazon. We will personally plant ten trees per purchase on our site today only. Big or small, your purchase will directly help in the health of our largest ecosystem. Join us in our fight to conserve and regrow the Amazon. We thank you for your support.
